Position Overview
The Supply Chain Manager, Asia manages company's vendor base in Asia and is responsible fordelivering high quality services at an effective cost basis.
Responsibilities of Supply Chain Manager, Asia
? ? ? Manage and maintain an effective vendor base to support global customer demands
? ? ? Manage the sourcing process and identify and qualify new vendors
? ? ? Achieve company objectives for vendor delivery and quality performance
? ? ? Ensure effective follow-up on all open vendor purchase orders including work in process and final
? ? ? Manage customer and supplier quality audits
? ? ? Monitor vendor loading and capacity to ensure PO's are issued to the appropriate vendors
? ? ? Handle product cost negotiations and pricing for active replenishment items
? ? ? Deliver recommendations for continuous improvement to processes, personnel and vendors
? ? ? Manage ongoing quality assurance program to ensure quality is built into design and materials
? ? ? Manage Asian sourcing both for new product development and re-sourcing
? ? ? Prospect for alternative supply sources to ensure competitive costs and adequate vendor capacity
? ? ? Coordinate with logistics team on consolidation for shipments to achieve cost-effective for both Umbra and vendor
? ? ? Other job duties, as assigned
Requirements
? ? ? University degree in business or engineering; post-graduate and global education is an asset
? ? ? 10 – 15 years of work experience in global manufacturing and distribution business with 1000+ SKUs
? ? ? At least 5 years of experience in a management role overseeing vendor management, sourcing, quality and logistics activities
? ? ? Experience reporting to a North Americanbased company that has operations around the world
? ? ? Strong command of the English language and ability to manage global relationships
? ? ? Strong track record of building strong teams
? ? ? Sophisticated computer and system knowledge
? ? ? Well-organized and works well underpressure in a global business
